Recruitment / Internship
At Eco Guide Cafe,
we cultivate environmentally friendly Green OW Divers.
The benthic (seabed) impact caused by divers is significant, especially when it comes to coral damage, which has become a serious issue.
Mistakes by inexperienced divers frequently lead to contact with the seabed. To address this, we offer the Green OW Diver course.
We train Green OW Divers who have acquired neutral buoyancy skills, ensuring they can maintain a stable position underwater.
This course is an active learning based on diving and aligned with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
It includes "Awe" learning to cultivate a sense of awe for the diverse organisms, such as corals and benthos, and practical learning of the "Green Fins" code of conduct recommended by the United Nations Environment Programme. It also includes training on the "No Touch Coral" skill to protect baby corals. Optionally, you can learn about Green Nutrition to incorporate an SDGs lifestyle into your daily diet, and Green Economics to achieve a sustainable society.
Eco Guide Cafe's courses take place in diverse diving locations such as Irabu Island, famous for its coral and topography, and the southern coast of Miyako Island, where encounters with sea turtles are possible. You can enjoy the ocean and nature while obtaining your diving license.
We conduct half-day training sessions over four days to ensure better focus. After the training, you can spend the remaining half-day experiencing the diverse nature of Miyako Island, allowing both your mind and body to relax.
Upon request, you can participate in workshops to learn about everyday SDGs life, such as Green Nutrition to acquire sustainable eating habits or Green Economics to understand how to achieve a sustainable society.
